What you need

To initiate a divorce process, you will need to provide the date and city of the marriage (it is not necessary for the marriage to have occurred in the United States). Additionally, you should gather basic information for both parties, including full names, dates of birth, addresses, and phone numbers. Information about any children from the marriage, as well as details regarding property and debts, is also required. You do not need to bring marriage certificates, but if you are unsure about specific details, such as dates of birth, it is advisable to have the relevant certificates on hand for reference.
